7 reasons why the teacher will not let me fail
1. He is generally an easy-going person (and with realistic expectations from students).
2. He remembers me from the class as the one who understands macroeconomics (his favourite part).
3. I already got 40 points from the seminar (so I worked hard during the semester).
4. It is my name-day on Thursday (sure he doesn't want to spoil my name-day, right?).
5. It is my very last subject in my Masters studies (would he like to be responsible for me taking an extra semester just because of one subject?).
6. I'm taking this stupid subject for the third time already (apparently I'm not a natural talent for economics so let's get rid of it fast).
7. Well, he'll be in a good mood and I'll be lucky.

Fifteen months full of fun
My studies in Masters programme started on Monday, 13th Feb 2006, 7:30 a.m. with a lecture on Economics. 15 months later it is 100% sure that my very last subject to pass is ... guess what ... Economics! It is my curse. Never ending story. From the beginning to the end.
Current score: 4 subjects passed, 1 more on the way (waiting just for the grade), Economics on Thursday

Russian roulette
"Russian roulette is a lethal form of gambling in which participants place a single round in a chamber of a revolver and, spinning the cylinder such that the location of the round is unknown, take turns putting the weapon to their temples (heads) and pulling the trigger. The game is usually depicted being played with a six-chambered revolver, and so each turn entails a one in six chance of death." (Wikipedia) Two games survived, four more to go

Good things are happening
I will use bullet points to keep it brief :)
- First let me express my happiness that I am successfully vaccinated against hepatitis A and B. All three shots are done with no drama. I kind of liked the adrenalin that accompanied the process and feel encouraged now so I play with a thought to get some more stuff done. Any suggestions? (Yeah, this probably doesn't make sense to you if you don't know that I am allergic to vaccinations).
- Marťa's friends from New Zealand came for a few days which was a good occassion to stay out late every evening and not study. The most fun part was watching them drinking absinth (and trying to understand their NZ English of course).
- I got a dream job in my dream company. Starting August 1st I will be working in corporate finance consulting, focused on buying and selling companies. The people seem to be friendly, especially my new boss is pretty laid back and easy going. Such a big difference from the cold fish in Big 4. So yeah, I am staying in Prague for awhile. Or I should rather say "in the Czech Republic" because the work includes some traveling and companies visits. Anyway they are a member of an international group and expand to the Eastern Europe so we will see for how long I'm settling down. (BTW it is the company where I flunk the accounting and German tests.)
- I spent last weekend at the @ conference. It felt so good to be at good old Seč again. I had so much fun. Lead sessions, ran from room to room and from building to building, met old friends, ate the same tasteless noodles like 3 years ago, partied till 5 a.m., hid the keys at the "secret place", sang "Reklama na ticho" so loud that we could not speak afterwards, danced @ dances ... Simply a trip to the past.
