Men and their toys

I finally understood why there are more male scientists than females. Today at the Financial Modelling class we learned how to use some simulation software and a new side of the teacher's personality revealed. He was excited to show us his favourite toy. He was literally shining with happiness. I bet he simulates stuff just for fun in his free time.
It is nothing new that the difference between boys and men is the price of their toys, but for the first time I've noticed the relation between big boys, expensive toys and science. Before I perceived it only the limited context of smart cars and high-tech cell-phones. I'm happy to finally see some positive aspects of this childishness :)
